What You Need To Know Before The Easter Holidays

đź“…When are the GCSE English Exams?

The first GCSE English exam in the UK for 2024 will take place on morning of Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 for AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas, OCR and WJEC English language paper 1 exams. For most students the English literature paper 1 exams will take place on morning of Monday, 13 May.

However, it's important to note that depending on the specific exam board and the type of skills being assessment, such as language or literature, your child’s first exam might be on a different date.

Here are some resources where you can find detailed information about the GCSE exam schedule for 2024:

🖊️What Does My Child Need For The Exam?

All students MUST bring the following to EVERY timetabled written exam: -

  • At least two BLACK ballpoint pens, you are not permitted to write in any other colour in Public exams. (Please make sure they work!)

  • HB Pencil

  • 30CM clear plastic ruler

  • Rubber

  • Sharpener

  • Highlighter (optional)

Students do not take in the text they have studies or a dictionary. They need to memorise any quotes they want to use. All text they need to use will be provided as INSERTS during the exam.
