📅When are the GCSE Science Exams?

The first GCSE Science exam for the majority of students in the UK for 2024 is on Friday, May 10th, in the morning.

However, it's important to note that depending on the specific exam board and the type of science being tested (e.g., Combined Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics), the first papers might be on a different day. For example CCEA biology paper 1 for both combined and single science students will take place on the morning of Friday, 17 May.

Here are some resources where you can find detailed information about the GCSE exam schedule for 2024:

🖊️What Does My Child Need For The Exam?

All students MUST bring the following to EVERY timetabled written exam: -

  • At least two BLACK ballpoint pens, you are not permitted to write in any other colour in Public exams. (Please make sure they work!)

  • HB Pencil

  • 30CM clear plastic ruler

  • Rubber

  • Sharpener

  • Highlighter (optional but useful)

  • Scientific calculator required (All papers)

  • There may be additional pieces of equipment needed. For example for Physics Paper 2 you need a protractor
